Did you know that 11–20 million Americans suffer from chronic pain? So, you’re not alone in this race to find the perfect cure for aches and discomfort.
But which CBD oil is best for pain? There are a million products out there, and since there is no “one oil to rule them all,” it can be hard to determine which one will do the trick.
However, there are some general rules you need to follow.
As you can see from our CBD reviews, CBD oil comes in three types:
- Full spectrum contains all of the plant’s natural compounds, such as CBD, THC, terpenes, and flavonoids. Full spectrum products also provide the so-called entourage effect (synergy of all the chemical compounds).
- Broad spectrum contains all of the plant’s compounds minus THC.
- CBD isolate contains only pure CBD, no THC, terpenes, or flavonoids.
So, what is the best CBD oil for pain? This would be the full spectrum oil due to the mentioned entourage effect. However, this is not always the case since CBD affects people differently, so you may even find that CBD isolate fits you best, such as CBDistillery’s oil that had its effects proven in a study.
The higher the dosage, the more potent the oil will be. But, when it comes to pain, while highly-potent oils will provide you a bigger boost, they are also more likely to cause mild side effects.
On the other hand, lower potency oils will give you more freedom when it comes to dosing. Generally, low potency oils will contain between 5 and 10mg per serving, medium potency oils will have 10–20mg, and high potency oils will have more than 40mg per serving.
When it comes to determining the best quality CBD oil for pain, flavors don’t really play a significant role, but they can be a deal breaker for some people. Especially if you’re new to CBD, you’d probably want to avoid tinctures with a robust and hempy taste.
On that note, many brands add flavors to their oils to make them more palatable. However, make sure to avoid artificial flavoring, like we did here. Natural and organic flavorings are much safer.
Third-Party Lab Reports
You should never buy CBD products from brands that don’t offer third-party lab reports (on their website or on request). These tests are important because they show the product’s potency and purity.
The best CBD oil for pain relief should contain additional ingredients, such as pain-relieving terpenes and other cannabinoids in order to be more effective.
Moreover, its formula must include high-quality and, more importantly, safe ingredients, free from pesticides, mold, and heavy metals.
