Woody Harrelson Opens a Weed Store in West Hollywood

Entertainment News - Woody Harrelson Opens a Weed Store in West Hollywood

On Friday the 13th, the famous actor and marijuana legalization advocate, Woody Harrelson, opened a new marijuana dispensary in West Hollywood called “the Woods.”

Harrelson launched the shop with his partners, Erba Markets’ Devon Wheeler, Bill Maher, Jay Handal, and designer Thomas Schoos.

It all started in 1996 when he was arrested for planting hemp seeds as a protest against a Kentucky state law that classified marijuana and industrial hemp the same.

At the Woods, you’ll be able to buy products from various cannabis brands, such as Alien Labs, Arcanna, Connected Cannabis Co, Pax, and Canndescent. You’ll also find everything from smoking devices to flowers and edibles.

The Woods is a large (8,000 square feet), stylish, and carefully curated indoor retail area containing a bar, a food service, and a consumption area in the garden where you can find a treehouse, Balinese sculptures, and a koi pond. The shop is located at 8271 Santa Monica Blvd.

The dispensary also aspires to have a low environmental impact. Namely, the area will be cleaned with natural chemicals and may eventually be run on rooftop solar power.

The Woods is the newest addition to West Hollywood’s Emerald Village and will be one of West Hollywood’s 16 licensed cannabis consumption lounges.

Still, Harrelson isn’t the only actor in Hollywood to enter the legal cannabis market. Many celebrities have started their cannabis brands, such as Melissa Etheridge, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Seth Rogen, Willie Nelson, and Wiz Khalifa.
